Swissgenetics Data Protection Policy

This Data Protection Policy sets out how the Swissgenetics Genossenschaft (“Swissgenetics”) handles personal data collected through the use of websites, online platforms and Swissgenetics applications. Swissgenetics operates the websites swissgenetics.ch, swissgenetics.com, die-fruchtbare-kuh.ch, veos.ch and the online platforms Elvasem and Elvamobile. For handling insemination orders, Swissgenetics also uses the Swisscom online platform Voicebox.

By using one of the websites or online platforms, you signal your acceptance of this Data Protection Policy and agree to the handling of your data in accordance with this Data Protection Policy.

1. Data protection

Swissgenetics takes the protection of your personal information very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the valid data protection regulations and this Data Protection Policy. Use of our websites – with the exception of the Webshop – is possible without entering any personal data. Where personal data is requested on our websites (e.g. names, addresses or e-mail addresses), as far as possible provision of such data will always be on a voluntary basis. Please note that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. when communicating via e-mail) may be associated with certain security risks. Complete protection of data against access by third parties cannot be assured.

2. Collection and storage of personal data

Depending on the website or online platform concerned, it may be necessary to register and/or set up a user account so that you can use our services or to enable us to process orders. When registering, personal details such as first name, surname, address, phone number, e-mail address and, if needed, other data will be collected and stored. Swissgenetics collects and stores personal data when this is needed for services such as placing orders, taking up offers or participating in competitions, etc.

Upon receipt of your insemination orders, personal details such as phone numbers and voice messages will be stored.

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details given there, will be stored in order to process the request and in case of follow-up questions. This information will not be shared without your consent. These details and our procedure for handling your data also apply to orders you place via our websites using web-based order forms. We only store the personal information you provide for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the information was provided, or as stipulated by law.

The main storage of all data needed by Swissgenetics to process the customer’s insemination order is performed on the Elvadata AG data storage platforms. Elvadata AG is certified to ISO 27001.
